(Thanksgiving Edition) What makes me different. (Repost)

I'm reposting this in MyTakes 'cuz my first post got removed 'cuz I didn't actually ask a question but I wanted to post what I'm thankful for. (Besides my awesomeness 😊)

I am thankful that I am different.

And what makes me different?

First, my awesome, but oh, so outdated parents who raised us like it was the 80's with very limited internet and old fashion family values. Our family ate meals together at a table not in front of a tv. We played games together, worked together, laughed together, cried together, lived and loved and grew together.

Next is this small, rural, backassward area where I was raised with many colorful characters that no one will ever know about. Proud people who don't even make the "poverty level" by society's standards but we don't go by society's standards. We have our own. And we are so very rich.

No one I know of besides the retired folks get foodstamps or welfare but we never go hungry. We know how to hunt and fish and farm and we still use barter and trade here to some degree. Trade ya' two chickens for a sack of potatoes. Homemade bottles of wine and hard cider are also a great currency in these parts.

In this backassward area never once have I locked the door to my little house and I leave the keys in my vehicle when I go to our little town. We smile and talk to each other when we meet in public. We know who our neighbors are and we check on each other during the long, winter months when the power is out and the blizzards isolate us from the outside world.

The outside world I already feel isolated from since I don't seem to see things like other people do. When I shut off the news and internet I don't see any of those things I hear others talk about. I see a wonderful wide world full of hopes and dreams and so many possibilities. I see love. That's what makes me different.
And I am thankful.

Now... the difference... go out and travel and see the world. Meet people from around the world. We are not so different.

I raise my two teens like your parents.

The differences... they have travelled to over 20 countries before 20 years. old and they know what the real world is like.

'... besides my awesomeness' Do you have any idea how maddeningly enticing it is to hear you describe yourself not only as 'awesome', but you openly admit, for all the world to read, that you're a self described narcissist? I've always believed that if a woman is perfectly fine stating publicly that she views herself as above average, then she obviously is, and it's my civic duty to beg for the privilege of serving her and her boyfriend as an obedient online pay pig and personal slave.

Lol, well, Thank You for the reply and while your begging certainly feeds my narcissism I must respectfully decline your gracious offer. I mean what kind of proper awesome narcissist goes around with a personal slave? That would just make me look like a tyrant and I would certainly lose adoring fans and ratings over it and then how would I feed my narcissism? And , of course, I am looking at the bigger picture here and how this will all benefit me and my awesomeness. 😊

To talk about how they lived in the 80's, you must ask someone who was born and lived in the 80's, i'm one of these people and yes i agree with what you have said, these were the golden days, unlike our current trashy era...

I gave you a like on your take because for the first time you wrote something that is truly awesome and how you were raised is awesome 🙂

Anyways, i'm a man who supports women who were raised like that and still having morals and values so i can't go against my ideology and what i preach about!

We are all individuals. I always felt that I am pretty different than the average bear. It sounds like you had a very good upbringing. You seem polite and respectful to the other members and you have not yet blocked me.
