Has anyone (friends/family) tried to set you up with someone you have no intention to be with? Did it anger you?

A long time ago my brother's wife tried to set me up with one of her co-workers. Her reason: "You're single and he's single." However, I didn't know this and I was invited to one of their get-togethers and they had him and a few other people over. I guess it was one of those things where it was sprung on each of us and I was quite annoyed. Being single at that time in my life was a known choice I made, and what was worse, the guy the picked out for me was anything but my type. I told my brother that the two of them would be thanked to never put me through something like that again. Here I was thinking my brother just wanted to be social with me, but that was their motive.

Some people don't take cues from single friends and family very well. Just because *they* found a nice relationship doesn't mean it's their duty to fix me up. I never had trouble in the past meeting men and their pick for me was just an indication that they never even thought to go as far as to ask me what I was looking for in a guy.

Unless it's asked or welcome by the single person, people should just lay off.

This has happened to me several times. It used to make me really mad, because it's uncomfortable and I felt like they were meddling without me asking them to. But now i have come to consider it sort of sweet, because whoever is trying to play match maker with you probably wants to see you Happy. Just remember that even if The matchmaker has The best of intentions you are the one that has the final SAT on wether you want to go out With the person or not.

Yesss!! So many times! I was alittle mad but I was laughing at them trying anyway. My mother tried to set me up with the guy who checks the safety stuff in her shop and my step dad tried setting me up with a lot of guys including a waiter when we were having dinner 😂

Yeah, throughout middle and high school, I had a friend in my band classes that played music with me. Her friends said it'd be cute if we were together, and when my parents saw me and the girl perform together in a music concert for school, they said that I should ask her out XD I never intended to ask her though, she was wayyyy outta my league lol

Nah, this was before I met her. This girl played trombone too, and we were good friends back then. We still talk now, but she's a lot more popular and parties a lot more XD

Soon as I tell anyone I'm a lesbian, they immediately try to set me up with some other girl that they know is also lesbian. It doesn't happen anymore, and the girl that I ended up getting together with hadn't told anyone of her sexuality and no one had tried setting me up with her.

I have aspergers and so many people will try and set me up with other women with aspergers I hate it. Hell I have had people try and set me up with other people on the autism spectrum to be friends. It is so fucking annoying/offensive but I have to live with it

You could hear it in her voice & she used sign language but I wasn't around her much to see her use it like that
