Should I get rid of someone who doesn't want to talk to me anymore?

Hello,

I've had an online friendship with someone a few years ago; we meant a lot to each other and we discussed anything. We've had our ups and downs. Her other friend didn't want her to speak to me again and I don't know why; so we haven't spoken to each other for a long time. We only wished each other a happy birthday on our birthdays.
I decided to reach out to her again. To keep her anonymous I'm going to call her Abby.

Dialogue summary over the past 2 months
Me: Hi Abby, we haven't spoken to each other in a while. Are you okay? I hope you're still healthy and doing well.
No answer, she's been busy nor has been active at all

On her birthday
Me: Happy birthday Abby, I hope you're doing well.
Still no answer

Me: Can you please respond or come online soon? I'm starting to get worried.
Abby: Hey, thanks for worrying, I'm ok I hope you are too
Me: Thank you for letting me know, I'm okay too.

Me: Do you want to talk soon?
Abby: I'm sorry, not really

Ever since I've been questioning myself; should I just unfriend her? She has hurt me so much. I tried to talk about the situation to someone else and they say that I've been too nice and too patient. I've given her so many chances and she only comes to me whenever she feels like it even though it's rarely ever. What should I do? Just leave it? Say something? Leaving it and doing nothing makes me feel like I'm making myself available when I shouldn't; I'm hurt.

Don't make this all about you. Give her space and make some new friends. Right now she s going through something. And I think others may be right. She could be depressed. And when your like that, you hardly want to talk to. anybody. But if you decide to go, make sure your okay with this and so are they. Is this about you or is this about the friendship. If your doing this because you lonely then you have to fix this yourself. If your needs aren't being met you need to just confront her. In my opinion let her be. Right now she is probably afraid to talk to you because of something going on in her life. And it may not be good. I haven't spoken to my friends for months and years. I cannot afford to talk to everybody. But I do when I can. Whatever it is that she just you with you need to just tell her that she just you. But whatever you do, don't make it all about yourself. You don't know what you could be going through. At least she was honest and said she doesn't feel like talkin right now. Sometimes that's not meant to be personal. Because right now it sounds like it's more about you instead of what her wellbeing is. As long as she is still in contact with you that's all that matters. If she comes to you only when she feels like it, it means that she can't do what you both used to do anymore okay. You have to figure out what kind of friendship do you want. Because it doesn't sound like she's a bad person. Wish you could be going through things also. If you don't care about that, just cut it off now. That way you both can find better people to be friends with.

I think you can stop talking to her, or talk less, without having to unfriendly her.

Online or not, I have a lot of friends who once were very close to me and know I only seen once or twice a year. Things change, people's lifes take them to different places.

I agree that something is wrong with her behaviour, but I would just give her space. If she only comes to you when she needs your help or out of interest, then, at those specific times, don't do anything that male you uncomfortable. Tell her how you feel, demand friendship for her. Help her if you can, but tell her that you want a friend, not a parasite (strong word, but I couldn't remember anything better).

It sounds like something is wrong or she's trying to distance herself from you for whatever reason. The fact that she outright says she doesn't want to talk to you makes it sound like she's trying to push you away or out of her life. Something might be going on in her life she doesn't want to discuss, but if you're her friend, I would think she would want to talk to you about it. So I'm sensing she no longer wants to talk to you or be friends anymore.

I would ask her does she want to continue to be friends with you. I think she owes that much to you so you can move on with your life. If she does not reply, that is your answer right there: stop talking to her.

Just leave her be. You've done all you can do. I had a number of online friendships when I was younger and they all ran their course. And I'm sorry to say that if she really isn't speaking to you, this one probably has too.

In my experience, just because they don't wanna talk to you anymore all the time doesn't mean they don't like you. It just means they aren't interested in you romantically at the current time. If you just leave it be maybe they'll hit you up in a couple weeks or months. It sucks yes but you'll get over it trust me. Just let it roll.
