I didn’t really mean to go off on her, but she provoked me and will probably see me as evil. This is the third time I told her to clean the shower after using it. There is no maid in this house and I’m not her mother. My mom raised me to clean the shower after each use.

Anger has just built up, nothing serious, and I went off on her.

I think that the only person that could provoke you is you. But yeah you were right to tell her to clean the shower and that she needed to clean the shower after using it. You can apologize if you didn't mean it and explain why if it makes you feel better. But your roommate should know better. How old is your roommate by the way? Was she trying to make you mad and upset? Then yeah she deserved to be cursed at, but not name-calling. If the anger is nothing seriously maybe it shouldn't be that bad. Did she clean by the way? Did she understand why you cursed at her and why you were upset about it?

I couldn't tell you how many times I've had this surge of anger build up when I see that my roommate didn't go to work and still had a pile of dishes in the sink. He had also not taken the time to at least sweep or mop. I feel like yelling what did you do all day!

I understand you might feel guilty for being angry. Your anger isn't wrong. Your delivery was wrong. Find a way to be more constructive and if talking isn't working maybe upharge your roommate for cleaning after them.

Peace in your living space has to be a top priority. I've seen that if I take initiative to clean first I can use it as leverage to get my roommate to clean as well.

You are right, but at times being right ain't everything. You are perceived as evil because of the way you explain yourself or because of the way you keep your stand.


Many a times we become wrong because of the way we say things.
I too face similar problems. I an often correct but my way of saying never is.


Despite being correct I suffer.
Don't make the same mistakes as mine.

Clean the shower after every use? Like, every day? I think that's a bit unreasonable. I can see cleaning it once a week. But if someone had to clean an entire shower every single day, that would take up a lot of their time. What about just picking up the hairs and rinsing out the soap suds?

been there done that. you have to pick your battles with people like that until you can find a new roommate which isn't easy because a lot of people are whackos in this world.
