Why do people think we’re dating?

Everyone thinks I’m dating my best friend lol. Literally everyone in our class thought we were together and that we were cute together. Even the principal thought we were dating. We told him we were only friends and he said “I’ve started off as friends with my wife in high school now we’re married 😏.” Even our history teacher put us together at the same table. I see him as a brother, and it’s soo weird how everyone thinks we look cute together.

If peope see a boy and a girl togther all the time in school, that is the natural assumption. I had a girl bestfriend in highschool and had to deal with the same thing.
"Y'all look cute together", "Y'all should date", and etc.

In fact whenever my friends was me talkomg to a girl period people would ask me " do you like her?" As in "am I intrested in dating her."

It happens, but it shouldn't be that much of a bother to you, I hope it's not.
