Do parents have favorites?

I notice this in my example my mom helps out my older half sister now (36) a lot when my sister went threw a divorce my mom offered to help took care of my sister's kids and help out until my sister was able to make it on her own. My mom had her very young 16 at that time. I notice that with me the treatment has always been different my mom would say rude comments oh well no one told you to do that , Oh that's your own fault. Right now I am going threw really hard times some how I managed on my own. My mom know what has been going on not a single phone call or even care , I also have a younger sister same thing my mom spoilers her with me it's like I am the scapegoat. Parents have the favorites kids?

For me, OBVIOUSLY!!! My ex-sisters had dad wrapped around their pinkies!! They, and my brother, could get away with MURDER!!! If I so much as forgot to push a chair in, I'd never hear the end of it!!! Yet, WHO was by their side when they were dying? ME!!! All those two bitches wanted was their money!!! My brother was in jail (on a COMPLETELY bogus charge!!!) when dad died and he'd already killed himself a few years before mom died!! But, he was a raging asshole the bulk of his last 20 years, anyway!!

I never had a favorite but I treated the older one different than the younger one. Partially because they were very different in temperament. I treated the girl different because she was a girl. I think I treated them all fairly and I loved them all the same.

Some do.
I'm definitely my dad's favorite and my family knows it, lol.
My mom knows how different we all are and just accepts and loves each of us as is.

Yes, I experienced this most of my life. I'm middle child and mostly forgotten, older the brother the perfect one, my younger sister, the princess can't do anything wrong, but totally fucked her life as an adult, they kept helping her out up until they were unable to care for themselves.

Well Justin case there’s something you know that I don’t or maybe even we both still don’t but it remains in the negative, I think they can definitely like a variable more than the other. Yes they do. None would ever admit it, but they do. And I don't know that it can be helped, and it certainly isn't right, but it's very common.

Oh yeah, they certainly do. I’m the black sheep of the family. My sister has been treated very well and is given breaks that I could only dream of. I don’t care much though since I’ve lived on my own for myriad years.

My sibling passed away at a young age, so I have no way of knowing. I imagine they do in some aspects, but I can't say since I'm neither a parent nor have I siblings.

We don't have favorites, per se. My oldest is a far more capable woman than my youngest but they are both unique and are treated as unique individuals.

Yeah they do my sister was my mother's favorite because she was a girl. My sister got everything new everything I had was used including my clothes.

I think they change over time. For awhile it is the youngest , then for a period the oldest. Now if you have a problem child, then never them,
