Do your parents prefer you date someone of the same race?

I've seen lots of parents of all colors at the very least prefer them to date someone who is their own race, or sometimes even more specifically, ethnicity. Just curious how your parents all feel.
If you have biracial parents, I'd be interested to hear if your parents are more open or not as well.

They don't care either way

There was a time when my sister brought home a boyfriend to meet our parents (and our brother and me) for the first time. When Mom saw them getting out of the car and noticed he was black, she was very pleased. Because her ethnically Irish daughter was dating a black man and ooh, how progressive? No. Because maybe she'd end up with grandkids that DIDN'T need sunscreen to watch fireworks? No. Because she'd been taken by surprise. Because to my sister, his skin color didn't matter. Mom was born in the mid-fifties, and saw much of the racial stupidity of that era firsthand; the idea that it was so finally OVER pleased her quite a bit.

I don't know if Dad felt quite the same way, but he and Mom were only a few weeks apart in age, so I wouldn't be surprised. They brought us up to think it doesn't matter.

My late mom only wanted me to basically be with another believer, which I respect and understand. I would have preferred it also, however, a lot of those who claim themselves to be believers don't seem to like me and either prefer other girls or my friends. Sadly that seems to be practiced by almost 97% of guys I have encountered in my life, not including the creeps, the horny, dysfunctional, abusive, and or player types. She didn't care about so-called race. Just that they treated me right and follows what the word of God says.

My father, however, wouldn't have cared years ago. However, he started getting really bad into that cult version mess, and that prompted him to think I should be dating the same "race".

Either way, I am not interested in dating or being involved with a guy. Plus, if I was, I rather date a close friend my parents and friends already know. Community-centered, but not forced either. If there is no compatibility and our families and friends cannot agree or get along, then I rather not if there is no rational reason to date that person.

I think my mum would prefer it, if I did, because she's kind of traditional is some way, but I doubt she'd object to or be totally opposed to me dating outside my culture.

I'm pretty vocal with my family about not wanting to get married and having kids, like if I do find someone, I don't want to marry them, as I'm not religious, like my family.
