Do You Have Resentment Against Someone? Why?

I have a cousin who is the same age as me and we are both going to college. It seems like we have a lot in common. We've kept in loose contact with each other. The only thing I really know about her is she tends to be narcissistic. Well, one day she asked to meet me at a restaurant and I did. She talked my right ear off for 2-hours. She told me about all the drama in her life. I barely said anything.

After we parted, I called her on the phone and asked how she has been doing. I wanted to tell her about something that happened to me at school and in mid-sentence, she said, "I don't want to listen to this shit." And hung up on me.

I wanted to cyberly reach across and slap her in the face. There have been several times that she texted me wanting to meet me again at a restaurant. I just ignore the texts. I hold resentment against her.

Actually I am French but specifically a region, Corsica and we are known for our bad temper and holding grudges among other things so I do have a loooooong list of grudge. A bit of both actually. The grudges are in my family so honestly when my mother is fighting with her sisters it's always "yeah and what about when YOU did THAT? And don't tell me you forgot about it because it was on July 15th in 1985 at (...)" "yeah and what about when you did this on November 23rd in 1978 and we were..." (of course the date are random) so it's always epic and funny.
But more seriously if I can see him again I will definitely talk to him about it nicely. The bitches that bullied me in school you should be worried

No I'm not in a relationship right now but yes I have resentment towards some of my ex's because they did me wrong like cheating for example, refused to having an adult conversation about it, it was clear I wasn't going back with him but a conversation was the least he could do. He refused and dissed me on social media and talk shit about me to his friends. So yes I hold a grudge against him

I have resentment with my daughters dad because when I was pregnant and we were together (at that time we were together 3-4 years) he cheated on me and I found out when our daughter was a few months old…. He left to a different state abruptly while I was going through post partum depression and eventually told me that he got a girl pregnant while I was pregnant and he was doing his duty and signing the birth certificate and being there for the birth. Daughter is 4 years old now, we have a cordial relationship. Help each other out, etc. He still begs me to get back with him, even uses our daughter as a scapegoat to tell me that she wants her parents together and that she wants a sister or brother. I resent him still. But I know how to not let it affect our parenting relationship. We hang out, talk about our daughter, etc. it’s just when he tried to hit on me, I get extremely angry that he’d even have the audacity. When he first told me about the other woman’s pregnancy, I told him that he’d regret it and hung up on him. He regrets it to this day and that’s his karma. Live with your choices.

It takes a lot of maturity to not hold grudges against people. Am I guilty of that in the past? Yes. I had to let go of that, because I simply didn't care much anymore. "Holding resentment" means you care, in the sense that you want to see them suffer for what they did to you, and I just don't think like that anymore. There are people I dislike, sure. However, I don't hold any grudges. If I don't like someone, I just don't talk to them.

@bingbongbangbung In my teenage years. I am mostly a likable person, so I don't get into a lot of conflict. That's why when I did, found it hard to forgive. Now, I don't care enough to think of how many ways I want to see someone suffer, because it takes a lot of my energy that I rather spend doing something productive.
