If they don't like you that much then why are you still considering them friends, they aren't friends, use all the time you got for yourself and use it to do something, you can make a plan for your life now that you have the time, draw or write it on paper if you have too, i have my life plans and I'm working on them any way I can, just sitting around doing nothing gives you enough time to think of everything including the negative shit, keep yourself busy, what's something you like? Any passions or hobbies?

I don't know what your sister is like, or why the guy messaged you, but what I have noticed is that you are comparing yourself to your sister way too much.

Focus on yourself. Do what makes you happy. As long as you are on your own path instead of trying to beat someone else on their path, you will be happier.

As for finding someone, in my experience you meet better people when you're not trying to find someone to date or love. If you're being yourself and meet someone, you know they are interested in you. Less chance of rose-colored glasses in your vision.
