Why would they still be friends?

This person doesn't like me because they believe I threw them under the bus. For years they have tortured and bullied me and had others turned against me. They recently found out the truth and figure out it was someone who they are closed friends with. He doesn't apologized but lets it be known, he knows it wasn't me yet is still friends with the person who threw him under the bus.

Maybe the person apologized which made them stay friends. Sometimes problems happen in friendship but if people are mature to talk about it they can stay friends
