A sick Baby Bird who was Thrown out of its Nest by its Parents or a Mother Bird who Dies unexpectedly on her Nest of Eggs? xx ****BOTH Scenarios are VERY SAD But in this Question, Choose ONE. xx

The mother dying over her unhatched eggs is the most sacrificial act of "love" she could provide- sacrificing herself to keep her eggs warm until/if her mate returns. For the mother bird, it's an instinct rather than a conscious decision/choice as a human would make by, say, falling on an exploding grenade to save his fellow soldiers. Giving of life via sacrificial love is always heartbreaking to me, and very appropriate at Easter.

A baby bird that is really "sick", likely cannot be cured by the mother bird, and- depending on the "sickness"- could endanger the other fledglings. So while we as humans might view this as the most heartbreaking, booting the sick bird is simply another instinct- that of group survival- surfacing for the group.

You know I always answer you honestly Paris, so this will be no exception. (And I apologise because I didn't follow the rules on your question) They are both sad, but yesterday I read in the paper hundreds more civilians buried in mass graves in Mariupol alone.
I can't find it in me at the moment to get that upset about one or two little birds.

The mother cause then all the babies will die. It's just the nature of birds to get rid of bad offspring. It's a bird-eat-bird 😉 world out there and they don't have time to waste spending energy and resources on a baby that will never do well.

Poor baby bird.

I feel bad cause every year Robins come and make a nest in one of my trees in my backyard and every year, they throw the baby out, who can't fly very good and every year my dog eats it.

I think the greatest suffering would be the baby bird. That individual is aware of its existence more than un-hatched chicks. The mother bird is most aware of all, but you said her death is unexpected and probably sudden. The baby bird's death could take hours.

Thinking logically, if the mom dies then there is a very high chance that the eggs may also not hatch.

On the other hand, it is only the sick bird that is thrown out of the nest. All the remaining are secure.

But both of them are sad as at least one or more than one lives are lost.
