Would you feel insecure if all your friends earned more than you?

One of the main reasons I ended up friendless is coz my classmates have always been richer than me, resulting in mine inferiority complex.

Well stop first of all if your in school when it's over everyone hors there own way and somewhere down the road or in time you will run in to them one day it has been my experience that those people even though they are rich took the wrong path somewhere or is it good looking cheerleaders they all have five kids and they're unhappy in their marriage. so I mean don't let it bother you because it's a waste of time
In 10 years you you go to the class reunions you will be this novelist are you be writing film scripts you'll be doing something this very cool and good making lots of money and all the rich kids or the snobby people that wouldn't give you the time of day will do anything just to talk with you just because they're so lonely now

I did when I was your age up till about 40. You have to remind yourself not every takes the same pass in life. And just because someone has a bigger house, newer car, more expensive wardrobe, the sickest toys and trappings of wealth. DOESN'T MEAN THEY HAVE MORE $$ THAN YOU. I used to think that and it used to burn me (but it just drove me to work harder, invest more etc.) And now I have a net worth 3 times the avg. Guy my age and most of those people I just talked about are up to their eyeballs in debt.
Run your race, stay in your lane, and trust God will protect you.
That is my advice.

Not really. I remember being jealous when I was younger, but then I realized just how shitty their jobs were.

Now, I know I can celebrate their success while still working my way up the salary ladder.

And I've gotten to a point in my career where I outearn some of my friends. I've also outearned every boyfriend I've had.

I earn less than some of my older friends, but they're older and further in their career so that's expected. They're aspirational in that sense, and often have good advice for me career wise.

Eh... nah. We don't discuss salaries, and while I may not make as much as some of them (again - no idea) I can guarantee my job is much more interesting than theirs. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Plus my husband also has a job so our household income 100% exceeds theirs.

most of my friends earn more than me. i dont care. I'll be at their level eventually and until then i know they value my hard work ethic and understand that i won't be able to spend as much as they can

At one point I was a friend of a millionaire while I was on food stamps. He was fully aware we talked about it. I never went without a meal or a roof over my head. I never asked or was given anything. I told him I was fine he simply said "if you ever need anything" I never ask he never brought it up. Sadly, he died our friendship wasn't close, but he certainly appreciated it probably more than most because I never asked.

But a is that because they live at home with parents or split their bills with a partner?
Possibly I'm having to do all of that alone on a single income. It's great isn't it!!

No. But I will probably be demoted to an acquaintance at some point - not by choice.
If they have more money than me, I probably won't be able to go out with them much.
I would probably be left behind on some/most trips - and this is a good way to lose touch.

Not insecure, but uncomfortable.
Generally, it's not an issue at all, but I had very wealthy friends who just had spending habits that I don't adopt for myself, or even could ''compete'' with.
So spending time together wasn't always enjoyable.

Wealth is not just having a lot of money. There is also spiritual wealth. Someone who does not have a lot of money can be spiritually rich.

Not at all, I earn less than them but but pay no tax, live better and make them thousands out of the advice I give them
