I told the truth but how long will it take to be forgiven?

I got someone framed and suspended (nearly expelled) when we were 13 years-olds. Out of guilt I just recently spilled the beans; 5 years later. I didn't want to continue living as a liar that framed an innocent kid, wanted this last year HS year to be clear of everything, didn't want to be girl that gives a bad example and everyone hates, etc.

I've cleared the name but I'm getting trashed on facebook and 3 of my friends currently aren't speaking to me. I told the truth and it caused negative reaction. How long is this going to last? Will this eventually be forgiven and forgotten?

I basically outed myself and now I'm getting all the hate. I was thinking telling the truth frees you. It does but they won't stop judging me, calling me names, refusing to speak to me, etc.

It might end uo that you will be ostracized forever. Still , you did the right thing and it was very brave to confess. Some times you just have to accept the consequences of your actions.

So what am I gonna do now? They won't stop with their hate and trashing me online. I regret what I did back then... I've felt guilt since but I really thought telling the truth would set you free.

I've received another mean response saying that I should be hated and trashed for 5 years, as long as that poor kid got for no reason. Wow... I was trying to make things right.

God will forgive you though... Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive (Colossians 3:13).

That individual may never trust you again. That individual may never acknowledge you or your restitution. This is life.

Off course not. I've framed this person for something serious that never happened to get out of an awkward situation. The situation was that we were going to get bullied and so I lied.

Yes... the person obviously hates me and finds what I did very unforgivable. Understandable. I ruined part of this person's early teenage years.

Maybe time will help... At least they and you know that you have a conscious.
