Why do people who have no filter, get mad when someone refuses to listen to their unwarranted comment or advice?

I have noticed that with certain family members of mine and some people I know, some of them have no filter and they love to say whatever they want and proudly proclaim that they love to give criticism. Yet; if someone like myself refuses to listen to their criticism, they get bent out of shape and start yelling at how either myself or my generation can't take criticism all because I refuse to listen to their ranting and raving.

Remember.. advice should be:

problem-solving strategies, or tips to remember later, for more efficient task completions.

It should hold on 👐 the judgement of a person or sharing of an opinion, of what the adviser believes to be ‘right’ or ‘wrong.’

Maybe that’s constructive criticism that neglects the inclusion of interpretation and judgement. Maybe more people should consider asking for that 🤔.

You’re so right to feel that way though. At a glance, it can be frustrating when a person asks us a question, and it seems like they just want a fight. It’s not always the case.

They simply want to be heard. Easiest thing to do is hear them out, acknowledge it, and go on about their life. Give them the three minutes of Fame within your life. At least they care...
