Partner doesn’t want to drive and visit me since it’s too expensive me?

So my partner and some friends were going to drive down to visit me. Hotels are like a little less than 500 for two rooms for the weekend. I’m always flying out there and kinda begged for him to drive down since a friend I haven’t met physically yet is in town. I had a nice little weekend planned cause I want to take them to Fairfield Farmers Market I think they’d enjoy. Now he wants me to fly out but I was really hoping to have them drive down cause I’m always flying out to visit them. I work an early shift Friday morning so the timing would’ve been perfect. Around the time I get off they would’ve been in town and then they leave Sunday morning before I go to work. I already go Saturday off and don’t want to miss work Sunday cause I need the money. If I was with them, I would have to wake up around 4:30am to catch my flight back home to make it to work on time and I really don’t want to do that. Am I wrong for wanting them to just make the drive down? Yes they would have to get a rental and split the hotel cost versus helping me pay for an airline ticket.

The main issue is how much a rental would cost and then splitting the hotel cost. I’d chip in for the rental if needed and am now looking at one room hotels/motels for a cheaper cost

Unless he has some kind of health problem (physical or mental) that keeps him from seeing you, then there's no excuse for you to be seeing him all the time. He needs to see you sometimes too and if he can't do that, forget about him.

He’s visited twice. The second time was for his birthday surprise to Disneyland that I had to convince him to come without spoiling.

He makes more than me, I wouldn’t be able to let them stay at my place, if I visited I would be able to stay at his place, his rent and debt may take up most of his check but he gets paid weekly like me

It’s not even fuel cost it’s the rental and hotel. There’s four of us total so we take turns paying for gas
