A person that checks in with me regularly- not just in person, but via text or calls occasionally to make sure I'm okay. And if we don't talk for a while, once we meet up again, it's like nothing changed. It feels like you never left.

They're trustworthy and reliable. All my life I've had "fairweather friends": you know the type: they're only available when it's convenient for them, yet when you need something, they're busy or no where to be found? Yeah, that type of "friend."

And most importantly, someone I can be myself around. You feel a sense of comfort talking to them or being your REAL, open self without fear of being judged- nowadays that is so rare to find friends like that.

There are many many different levels and types of friendships that can be so very beautiful a true friend you can love unconditionally when you call you're there for that person and vice versa it's almost like being in a relationship because there's a bond there a true friend you can say anything to and they understand what you're saying to them without b**** barking or biting and the true friend will accept the things you have to say and understand that nobody's trying to be right they're just say what they feel what they see

    Can't top this:

“A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him I may think aloud. I am arrived at last in the presence of a man so real and equal, that I may drop even those undermost garments of dissimulation, courtesy, and second thought, which men never put off, and may deal with him with the simplicity and wholeness with which one chemical atom meets another.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson , Essays: First Series

You are each independent, but you hang out. You're there for each other no matter what. You aren't invasive and respect each other's space and personal boundaries. You're like non-blood family. You support one another. You're also there to smack some sense into one another when needed.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one friend sharpens another.” A true friend not only encourages you to better yourself daily, he/she would be there for you through your worst and best.
A good friend doesn’t pull you down or try to “one-up” you, but rejoices in your success.
The best kind of friendship always makes you feel undeserving, so you know never to take it for granted.

Supportive, fun, not overly reactionary or too-sensitive. Some overlapping interests. Meshing communication preferences (some like a lot of brief contact; some less often but deeper; some only in-person; some via mostly text, etc.)

    My roommate is that.

We can tell eachother anything. She always has my back. We do things for each other without hesitation and without expecting anything in return.

    We just are like sisters

@dustybiker it was just a rare timing lol... with my close friends being from different circles, since I met them at different stages of my life (middle, high-school and college, and right after college) they're not exactly friends with one another, they are familiar and friendly with each other yes... but I am the common denominator there

this one day they were all in town and I was there to meet them all as well so I was like " this needs to happen!!" lol

once in a life time... I hope
