Do you agree with my friend on her parenting style?

She is very wealthy and is a stay at home mom and she told me, she buys her kids a very small number of toys because she wants them to use their creativity and imagination and not be too dependent on outside senses for the satisfaction of their toys and their life.

What she says is smart because the data says children of working class labourers have more joy and happiness than infants born into money.

I wonder if this could apply to attraction to, that someone who has 70% of what you want will make you happier then someone who has 100% of what you want.

Yes, it's a good idea. I had a classmate in junior high school from a rich family, and I remember being shocked at her very basic Christmas present list (not expensive whatsoever, and it was actually a homemade present she wanted). So I guess it can turn out well in raising rich kids with few toys. She did get married already, and has a child.

Yes I definitely agree with her. I've stopped spoiling my kids at Christmas and their birthdays cuz the toys are kind of pointless and just make a mess around the house. I try buying them only useful things.

With respect to being wealthy, I make them earn it. That way they can associate hard work with reward.
