Parents of GAG, What would you do if your child as an adult came to you and asked you to take videos you took of them off of Social media?

Unfortunately i do not have kids, But i know in the situation below, if that was their real feelings on the matter, i would definitely take them down. I dont want to cause any child of mine that kind of distress because of videos i made.

What would you do?

I know I’m not a parent but can i at least answer as the child of a parent who did that? My mom and other adults in my family do/did that A LOT and it pissed me off. If i wanted to be on social media, i wouldve created one. My mom felt like you so she took them down. (Or at least i watched over her as if i was the parent and forced her to lmao. I’m just that bossy). But my other fam members, i unfortunately can't control their actions so my pics are still lurking around. And what makes it so bad is that its “caught off guard” reaction type pics, not the ones you pose for. Just rude

I'm not sure I'd go that far either.. I can't imagine hurting my children like that. So yeah I'd just take it down. The OP'S parents likely value money over their children.

On a side note, I take random pics and vids of my wife.. But I would never ever share them. They were of her doing funny things, or weird things, or adorable things.. All things I want to remember but have zero desire to share.

I just hate pics and videos taken by others in general. I’ll never give consent for that unless i go to a photographer

I don't have social media outside of GaG. I never agreed with parents posting their kids online. I understand competely and I'm super proud of my kids too, but those kids are chronicled on the internet literally from birth through every birthday, accomplishment, school year, new haircut, favorite foods and colors, and family tree. 😳

yup. I think that's a reasonable request. I've taken down things of my children I've posted at their request. Not that I'm an influencer by any means.

As a family. We consent to never post our kids on social media. Kids too are old enough to not post their face on YouTube.
Both kids have YouTube channels.

At least you have respect. In the story above they seem to care more about being sn influencer than parents honestly.
