If you're an average looking person but people always seem to to want to mess with you?

If you're an average looking bloke with no redeeming physical qualities or also neither too terrible either

Why would an average bloke who poses no "sexual competition" or "financial competition" like me be tested by either gender?

The closer people live together, the more stressed out they are. This leads to a lot of conflict. So if you live in the city, people will argue and picks fights on a regular basis... It's what happens in cities. It doesn't have to have anything to do with you. They can be a raging maniac due to the last 10 people they encountered, and you're just the one they finally lash out at.

It wasn't anger but rather contempt

I would get smirked at/grinned at/side eyed mostly & a lot of LOLS when passing by me

You can live in the same neighborhood your entire life. Population demographics change over time. Cities of 30,000 grow to 250,000 over time. Surrounding cities in a metro grow during that time as well. Population density increases. People from other cities move in and bring their hostility from their old cities. As more people move in, they compete more often parking spots, jobs, apartments/houses, the last toy on the shelf for their kid at Christmas, etc. People just become a lot more nasty toward each other as cities grow.

If you look like an easy target, you can get bullied or picked on by people who have a fragile ego or unfulfilled lives that want to feel powerful or take out their frustration on you.


You could become prey to bullies and sadistic self-important narcissists.



You need to have some assertiveness and confidence if you don’t want to be pushed around by assholes you may encounter in everyday life.

So me being a 5/10 probably had something to do with the provoking?

It could. If someone thought they were better than you, based on that. They may want to step on you to create a false sense of superiority.

But if there was a 9/10 guy then how would he be recived?

Unfortunately, better-looking people are treated better in society. It doesn’t mean that average-looking people can’t succeed. It’s just easier to succeed in life when you’re better looking. Just like it’s easier to succeed in life if you’re born wealthy. But it doesn’t mean there are no rags to riches stories.

Because not all women are the same, some find the hot guys attractive but can fall for an average guy, it all depends and women like different looks, different features, after all it's why opinions exist
