If your best friend was sick, Stage 4 cancer, Terminal, not able to talk, And his one and only request was for you to help him die, Could you do it?

I ask this because of a series called "A Million little things" Gary, one of the main characters has stage four lung cancer, Nothing can be done. Every option has been exhausted. He requested his friends help him die if he ever got like that. Could you do that for your best friend.

I dont know if i could. Im not saying i wouldn't, but i dont think i could be responsible for taking a life. Even if it was requested. I hope to god i never encounter that situation.

I guess you would have had to experienced what unbearable pain feels like for yourself and that might make you decide differently.
You see, if you haven't experienced what they are having to endure and you are healthy and feeling good, then you might have a different outlook on the request being made to you.
Personally I have a lot of excruciating pain to the point where strong meds. didn't keep me from screaming in pain.
Like they say, you can't really judge a person until you've walked in their shoes.

Gosh I don't know. I love my best friend so much, but it would probably depend on the methods available to us. Definitely couldn’t do anything violent. Maybe if she just asked me to pull a Dr. House and turn up the morphine I could but I don't know. It would be a really hard situation and I honestly don’t know how I’d react unless I was in it.

the idea that we force people to suffer and die slowly is totally asnine. I'd hope I'd get the same in return.

There are states where assisted suicide is legal. So if I could get him in the care of a doctor there then maybe.

Probably not duo to fear of concequences on my life if someone finds out, if it was legal than probably yes if i felt i could do it

I don't find that to be legal, he will have to die out naturally. If he didn't sign a do nit recisistate or whatever I can't help then it's murder. Even though he is suffering I can't legally do that.
