Do you think US women are having less kids because they can't or won't?

Since the advent of birth control more reliable then the pull-out method women in the US have been having less children, more specifically less every year since then. There are other factors as well if you line up unemployment, cost of living, details like the housing crises, so on and so forth.

Do you as a man or woman think that there are less children because they are less desired, or because there are more barriers to have a family every year?
