I got invited to a distant a friend birthday at the club. My boyfriend ordered me an outift I really wanted and even paid express shipping so it would be here in time. The friend ended up seeing my outift a day before and msged me she’s already wearing that to her birthday. And asked if I could change my outift. There’s a dress code though and with such last notice. Its a day before the event and I can’t find anything else and my boyfriend told me to wear it as he spent extra money so it could be here on time. Is it wrong I’m still wearing it?

Yeah, please don’t match the birthday girl if she asked you not to. It’s not some random outing with friends, it’s her night, you wouldn’t wear white to a wedding. See what you already have to wear or even go to the mall. Wear that dress another time. You boyfriend is very “guy” about it, he doesn’t understand those things because it’s not something men care about.
That’s the thing I did try to go to the mall and find something but there’s nothing I liked. And the event is in a couple of hours. I don’t wanna make her feel bad and at the same time he spent the money on the outfit for me and matched with me in something
Sorry I didn’t see your response for this. Not sure what you ultimately decided to do, but if you wore the dress then I hope everything went smoothly. If you didn’t then I very much commend you, I’m sure it was hard to find an outfit or put one together but it’s her night, the least you could have done was respect that one fair request.
