Do blood relatives ever fancy each other?

I’m talking about a mother, who thinks no woman is good enough for her son, or a father who thinks the same about his daughter. Or a brother and sister, or cousins? As adults? It’s a taboo subject. It’s just something I started wondering about, randomly.

i'm reading your question in a different way. i don't see how that means they "fancy" their family. those are actually called overbearing controlling parents who have no control over their life and they have nothing going on in their life that they try to control their children's life so they can be just as miserable as they are. misery loves company. they can essentially "do over" their life by living and controlling their children's life.

and then once that child find someone to marry, the mother obviously thinks they're not good enough because the mom knows that that child will not need her anymore and they'll leave and they'll no longer be the center of attention. then the mom goes full break down
