Is it bad to take people on internet too seriously?

I know people who have heated debates on the internet, sometimes the other person blocks them and they can't stop thinking about that person and its on their mind constantly.

I think we should disconnect extremely negative emotions from most of our interactions online. Especially ones with strangers.

When I was younger, I'd sometimes get physically heated at annoying people online. But now, I've let go of that intense desire for control. I just let people be themselves. And if I see that they're open to new perspectives, I'll share mine. If not, then I won't.

Yes, but it's hard to not take them seriously. That's especially true as you discover that you share some of the same interests.

I also think it's true that small differences in opinion easily get blown out of proportion. When that happens it's difficult to fix things. People are quick to block rather than talk through a problem.

lol just don't feed the trolls. that's what they thrive on. they don't get attention in real life so they act like that on the internet for someone to even pay attention them.

Just be aware that many people who act like friends are anything but that. I have found myself blocked by several so-called friends on here.

Yep. It's bad. It's stressful. But at the same time it's dumb to take people seriously on the internet. This is definitely not a place to get into an argument, debate etc. The other person is just not gonna listen to you irrespective of the facts you throw at them or even if you're speaking the truth.

Are they there just to find someone to argue with, and why is it so important to them that they feel the need to be that way.
