**Yesterday Coming Homer from My Shopping Trip, A Dog From NOwhere, Ran Out in Front of Me and I swerved to Avoid Hitting Him But my Front Bumper, Caught His Arse End and Did A Bit (Not a lot) Damage. I Told This Person About it and They Just Said "Shame. Hope the dog is okay." Nothing about How I AM? What Would You Think if It Was You And They Didn't Ask About You? I could Have Been Really Hurt And My Car Really Damaged!!! xxoo
I hate when people pretend like they don't care, and say, "Oh, well, it is what it is, and blah, blah, blah." I'd be pissed myself if someone said that. I wouldn't worry about it though. People are jerks! I love doggies. I used to have a Yorkie, but there's not really much you can do here.
Dogs run out in front of cares, usually because their owners don't care or because their owners have no idea they're missing, or if they do know they're missing, they searched high and low, but had no luck finding their doggie.

You were in a car with safety equipment. The dog is like 100 lb maybe less... There's not much that could have happened to you personally with the exception of some damage to your vehicle. So long as you stopped your car and reported the accident you'll be fine. If you hit and run, then it depends on the laws of your state. In Florida it's a second-degree misdemeanor.
I would assume you are okay if you're telling the story. Most people that are injured in an accident start with, "I broke my leg in a car accident..."
I'll ignore that. Sorry about what happened to you, I hope you are good

Since you said it was a dog that you hit most people are thinking about the dog and know that you’re ok physically because you’re in a car so automatically we would wonder about the dog and maybe the car damage but know already that you’re fine since you didn’t swerve into a car or tree so it’s not something we would think about that you might be injured or how you feel
This depends, was the conversation in person or on the phone.
If it was in person he could probably tell you looked fine and nothing bad happened to you.
But if it was on the phone then I agree It should have been asked if you were okay or not cuz you would have no way of knowing.

Since you were in a car and struck a dog, they may have simply assumed that you were not injured.
yes, that is not cool. i can understand why you might have been upset. A few years ago my wife ran over a little dog in out neighborhood. She was very upset and to make things worse the dog owner was yelling at her so she just locked the doors. Fortunately there were neighbors that saw that the dog bolted between two parked cars and there was no way my wife could have seen him.
I did hit a dog once and spent 3 hours coaxing it out so I could take it the vet. Paid hundreds for a splint thing, the dogs fine. Took it back to the owner who shrugged and closed the door.
But I felt better. I’d ask how you’re handling it. It’s tough with any animals along the road. I tear up when I see a furry dead body every time.
The car is important if it’s your only way to travel, the damage to a car can be a month’s savings. A dog should be somewhere where the owners can take care of it. If it was a dog the lived in the street, then take it to the vet. If someone told me that I would say what do you mean by not a lot of damage.
The story you tell is about hitting the dog, not about you hitting the steering wheel or windshield. Most people would be more concerned about the dog than about you.
You ARE okay, right? No damage to you?
Well if someone were to hit a dog most people would assume the person is physically going to be okay considering that dogs wouldn’t have that much of an impact on a moving vehicle. So in That sense I understand why they focused on the dog. Plus dogs are loved by most people. I’m guessing they didn’t even realize that you might be emotionally hurt.
The driver was surrounded but a speeding hunk of plastic! The dog had no protection. As the driver is casually standing around telling of the incident, most likely, there's no need for any concern EXCEPT for the dog.
Since a car can be considered a deadly weapon, I think it's normal to be more worried about the dog who got hit then the person in the car who is more likely to live even if they are a little shaken up
I don't really know I mean I've had a concussion where I Had a Brain Hemorrhage but at the same time I like dogs the brain injury I don't recommend it cuz it was painful but at the same time dog

unless they dog is the size of a house... I would care more for the dog, of course
Yes, in such a situation, if the person is asked how the dog is, rather than the person, I don't think it has a bad purpose. because that person is in very good shape. At this point, I think it would be better to ask how the dog is.
They probably just assumed you were ok or you would have told them about it ^^

Well, they know that you’re OK. They’re concerned about the animal
To be honest, I would ask about the dog first then about you. You are fully protected but the dog has no protection. Did you stop to check on the dog or did he run off
All these people letting their pets run wild.. Idiots
Get over yourself. It's not about YOU! It's about the dog! Geez. I'm surprised at you, Paris.
Depends. If we're talking in person, then I'm obviously ok. If it's over the phone, I may be a little upset, but I'd get over it.
I would say the same, Humans in My part of town either outright abuse their dogs or aren't smart enough on how to care for them.
If You haven't guessed, I am not a Humanist.
