Why did my sister cut of contact with me and my mother?

My poor mother is 55 years old struggling with her health in a nursing home.

Out of all the useless ungrateful siblings I have I am the only one who is taking care of my mother. My mom is my everything my best friend.

My ungrateful sister continues to hold grudge and hate continues living in the past. Not only that but last time she called our mother my ungrateful sister yelled at my mother over the phone for th past 45 minutes complaining bringing up the past about how my step father sexualy assaulted her and bitch about how she was rub from her teenaged years watching after our younger siblings. And went on yelling how my mother took all of her biological father possessions.

My sister is selfish. I am currently working 3 jobs to pay my mother's medical bills. While my sister is swimming 🏊 in dollar bills she is wealthy as fuck and yet she denied to pay for my mother's medical bills.

She will die aline along with her wealth. Money can not buy happiness. I also saw my sister bring out our family business she's calls herself a Christian.

WTF It doesn't matter how my sister childhood was she is obligated to pay for our expenses and she must forgive us and move on.

One day my sister made the choice to cut me off and she doesn't acknowledge me. If I walk into her direction she switches to a different direction. Why is my sister so hateful?

A few things could be goin on with her:

- She's still deeply hurt from whatever happened as a teen and never fully processed/healed from it. Carryin that anger n pain.

- Cuttin y'all off is her way of feelin like she's in control after feelin powerless back then. Even if it ain't logical.

- She's selfish n doesn't want the responsibly you takin on for mom. Easier to stay removed.

-Could be lashin out cuz she's scared y'all might ask for cash someday too. Pushin y'all away first.

I know it ain't fair you gotta bust your butt for mom while she acts like that. But hate usually comes from hurt, ya know?

Maybe write her a letter sayin you love her n will be there IF she ever wants support with workin through her past. Then let it be - ball's in her court.

You just keep doin you n bein there for mom. That's all you can do sis. The rest is on her.

She needs to act like an adult. I did email her I've send her text SILENCE. One day she decided to cut us off. My mother hs not seen her grandchildren in 4 years.

Awww thank you for the kind response and Woah girl, cutting off your whole family like that is seriously immature and hurtful on your sister's part. Like, I get she has her own issues from the past but that doesn't give her an excuse to abandon y'all now when you need her support the most. Family should always come before pride or grudges as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's amazing how you've stepped up to take care of your mom - that shows real strength and heart. Not many people our age would be so responsible. Your sister could learn a thing or two from your example about what it means to be there for the ones you love no matter what.

I know it's probably hard, but try not to let her actions get you down. You're doing an awesome job taking care of Mom and being the bigger person. Hopefully in time your sister will start to mature, see what she's missing out on and come around. But you can't force it - all you can do is keep reaching out calmly and lead by example with your kindness. You've got this sis, stay strong!
