What are some good questions to ask in a roommate interview?

I’m going to start hunting for a roommate soon, I have an idea of some questions to ask to see if we’d get along but it would help to have some more ideas if y’all got any?

you need to know if their lifestyle and habits are compatible with yours, that's important

first, ask them how long they plan to be your roommate

previous roommate experiences/living with someone

how do they handle finances/bills?

do they keep their area clean? or just leave dishes in the sink for someone else to take care of? would it be okay if there was a cleaning schedule/shared responsibilities? (i think this one is super IMPORTANT)

do they wake up super early or go to bed really late at night? (work schedule)

do they smoke?

any pets or allergies?

how do they feel about guests coming over?

hobbies/how they spend their free time at home

what are their boundaries (for living together)?

how do they handle disagreements?

Do they have a partner, have friends frequently, do they dress tidy, would they be working full time, go out together, let them suggest a place to hang out, if its a club, good luck with that one, if its a bar, see how many drinks you can do with them, if no limit and they get really social, its party time at your place without warning. anything before five pm is a good sign. If its a dude, wear a low cut top if he looks three times he's going to be pinching your knickers. A tidy person that dont look like an attention seeker, anyone that looks down their nose, swing at them and throw out the door. Sweet and kind can be the worst types if not presenting well, clean teeth and nails, they take their shoes off at the door and are not 100 years old. looks like he has a huge package, its an experience ride and you end up his fall back number 8 for the day of the week thats missed the bus. good people dont smile like they got bad plastic surgery they are cautious. They should pay a security deposits with out a half next week, give them a Coffey if they dont use a coaster that is clearly on the table, they won't clean their shit stains out the toilet. In other words dont rent the room lol hope this helped

At a bare minimum you should find out if they have animals, child custody, and or stalkers
