Is this a good way to make a friend?

Not sure if this story is story or not. The story was written in April 2012. Basically the male poster is a 17 year-old HS bully. He's been pestering the poor kid for years until he gets beaten by his victim.

That's all he needed. A good beating and by the end of the post, he's friends with the kid.

The poster must be 29 by now but yeah seems like the kid changed him. Is this a good way to make a friend, to literally make an enemy into a friend? Not sure if this would work nowadays.

If you follow through the story, not even is close friends took his side. So he had no option but to eat humble pie and become his friend.

From what I got is he didn't stop being friends with them. His friends became friends with the guy that beat him too. This was his last post on that link:

don't blame him. It was deserved but it's all good now.

I already did that as well as thanked him for the well get soon card. This has been sorted out, we're friends now.

Apparently the guy felt sorry for the beating he gave him. It seems like he did changed for the better and became a nicer person.

Can it also be because initially he's just avoiding getting whopped again but then he really realized it isn't such a bad idea being a kind person afterwards and it improved his reputation after all so in the end it's like the guy did him a favor, lol.
