It’s been like a year, she talks about this man 24/7. He has a new girlfriend, he moved across the country and she thinks he’s just playing hard to get. They broke up, and he only had her as a friends with benefits and he would just use her for sex. But even if I tell her I don’t want to hear about him, because the guy is awful and if anything he seemed jealous of her.

Ask her why she thinks she needs a piece of shit guy in her life like that guy, and tell her you don't want to hear about him again. Or tell her to just leave you alone.

Yeah, maybe you shouldn't waste any more of your time with this girl. If she had bad parents and a bad childhood then maybe being a shitty person is what she thinks is normal behavior. That could make her gravitate to a guy who is a bad person, especially if her dad treated her and her mom badly. Regardless of her past, you don't have to accept her bad treatment. She needs to come to terms with all this to change her behavior. Maybe she just lacks the level of consciousness and self-awareness to see the big picture when it comes to the root of her behavior. Or maybe she's just a crazy asshole.
She sounds like she's mentally ill and will drag you down into her misery, the way she was probably doing to that guy that had to move across the country to escape her.
