I say yes, but I might say no. Hitting is not nice. But if someone is not listening to what is right and good for them, they need straigthened out. How should that be done? Ideally with words... but are words working. Maybe the issue is trauma before that that needs exposed and dealt with.

Parents in general, should not be hitting their kids. But they should be guiding them and disciplining and that means yelling at, taking phones, headsets, etc.

You are a normal human, but may have some unique issues going on. Talk to a professional possibly.

The only time that physical discipline might be in order is if a toddler is trying to reach into a fire or something similarly dangerous so that he/she relates pain with that action. And this only because the smack on the hand or spank is far less damaging than losing fingers, hand, arm, or life.

At your age, I would say absolutely not. Of course, my parents never struck me. By the time I was 11 I was bigger than mom and bigger than dad by 14, but all it ever took was a disapproving look from either for me to stop my foolishness.

He should not be hitting you as a normal occurrence. I do believe in physical discipline when kids are acting out with extreme negative behaviour, but it sounds like it might be regular abuse in your case where your dad just has no control.
