Can a bank employee look up my accounts balances without me knowing? (plus a little rant)?

I have / had a friend that got a job at the bank last year. We would chat and communicate everyday , and we were literally best friends and she was like a sister to me. She left her retail job and got a job at the bank. She was super vague about it , I’m not sure why , so i don’t know what position she got. It’s been almost a year since she got the job and almost a year since we haven’t spoken. I contacted her numerous times but was left with no response. She just completely cut me off. I didn’t do anything to her ! I’m now wondering if it was possible for her to look up my accounts and see my balances. Since she started working there, she suddenly stopped talking to me. She always complained about her financial position. To be fair, she made some bad choices in the past that amounted to that. I’ve been overthinking it all and just thought if she saw my balances and thought that I had sufficient amount to loan her or help out more?

I’ve always noticed a bit of an envious side to her when it came to her other friends, perhaps she did the same to me? Almost a year has passed and I’m not missing her as much. I mentally told myself she’s just someone I used to know. But I can’t help but think if she invaded my privacy and If she told anyone about it? So that’s why I wanted to know. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Unlikely unless it's a tiny bank. That data should not be available to employees. I worked for Amazon and employees could not see other people's order history etc. without their permission. If I call customer service, I get a text on my mobile that I have to acknowledge before they can see my orders.

My question firstly - how so, are Bank employees that groovy and just exude an aura of "I'd like to become your friend" lol 😜😆 in just curious genuinely. Some stereotype any office or white collar job as boring, plain, and as simple as a Camry lol 🚗

She’s not jealous of you, she stopped talking to you because it sounds like you weren’t very supportive of her when she complained.

Also anyone can get your balance if you write them a check. Just call the bank (automated) and ask whether this account has enough money to cover a check in such-and-such an amount. "Does this account have enough to cover a check for $10,000?" It will tell you yes or no.

I have my main account that’s in my name alone with another bank. But I have 3 other accounts with the bank she’s working at and 2 of them are joint accounts. The other persons whose account is it are loyal to this specific bank lol.

My mom used to work at the bank, and yes, they can look up your account balances if you bank there. They're usually too busy to do that, though. They'd basically only see your balance when you're there making them look at it to help you. And yes, they do gossip about people's accounts. They not only can see how much money you have, but also what you bought. Or at least where you bought it from.
