They're probably not your friend. It would be one thing if there was a context. Maybe if you feel so very generous, you could talk to them and ask them why. Sometimes like with immigrants, they don't necessarily know not to. Maybe they had an idea in their head and you could correct it and be friends if they learn.

I have to be honest I came up in the most racist family in a really racist small town, like saying the n word all the time, believing the Klan was just a civil rights organization that was misunderstood, and trying to bring things like the n word back like in schools. I overcame a lot of that but I still have work to do. Coming from that background, one thing I can tell you is if some white person is comfortable saying that to you or in front of you, they're saying something far worse when you're not around. And they're probably thinking worse too, even though they probably think they aren't racist.
