Would this frustrate you, or am I overreacting?

My aunt lives with me. I collect masks, and I have one of those tv tables you eat off of while watching TV. I use it to put one of my masks on. My aunt often comes into my room to talk to me which I don't really mind, but last night she kept telling me to use the TV table to eat off of instead of sitting on my bed, and eating, so I did as she said, but it really kind of bothered me.

Dude, that would totally frustrate me too if I were in your shoes. I get that your aunt was just trying to be helpful by telling you to use the TV table for eating, but that's kind of annoying that she's messing with how you have your own room set up, you know?

Like, that's your space and you should be able to use the furniture however you want, especially for your mask collection which is your own personal thing. It's not cool for her to just come in and start telling you how to use your own stuff.

I can understand the temptation to just go along with it to avoid an argument, but at the same time, you shouldn't have to constantly change your habits or routine just because she has an opinion on it. That's gotta get old real quick.

I'd be pretty bothered by that too, dude. Your aunt should respect your personal space and let you do your own thing, as long as you're not hurting anyone. She doesn't get to dictate how you use your own furniture and stuff.

If it keeps happening, you might need to have a calm, respectful conversation with her about it. Let her know that you appreciate her trying to help, but that you'd prefer if she didn't tell you how to use things in your own room. Set those boundaries, you feel me?

Anyway, you're definitely not overreacting. That would bug the crap out of me too. Stick up for yourself, man. Your living space should be your own.
