What you think I should do if my mom told me I need to quit my job because she dont want to babysit my one year because she got a life to live?

This made my jaw drop.

If you've got a one-year old, and your mom tells you to quit your job. How will you have money to cloth and feed your baby?

Childcare is prohibitively expensive. It's not practical to pay someone to look after your child, so you can work.

The reason that extended family ends up covering childcare needs is because there's no other choice.

Now, your mom, she's had a baby.

I am not saying that your mom signed up to look after your child at this time of her life. It makes sense that she wants to live her life. But she's got a daughter, who has a one-year old.

So to me, her telling you to quit your job, so she can live her life is extraordinarily selfish.

Telling you to quit your job, shows that she isn't thinking AT ALL about you, or her grandchild's well being. She wants to live her life. If that means you can't provide what her grandchild needs... she's fine with that?

I think it's wrong that your mother said this. I think it's wrong that your mother won't help babysit while you need to work.

I am sure, that if it was easy to do, you would already have quit your job. You are working, because you have to. You'd rather be spending that time with your kid, but you gotta work. It's infuriating that somehow your mother seems to not realize that. (which there is no excuse for)

I am not sure what to even suggest. How are you supposed to deal with a mother who would say something like that to you. She's selfish.

Find another sitter and maybe a second job to afford the sitter.

Your kid is your responsibility, not your mom’s responsibility to taking care of them.
Parents were tired too when taking care of us when they were young and we were kids.
So don’t give your parents another job when their job of raising us was done. And yeah she is right, she got a life.


Get baby sitter or put the kid in the Daycare. Don’t get a kid if you can’t afford it.
