I had a really good friend who moved to Australia for medical school a while ago, (she's back, and has been a doctor for several years now. She's Canadian, but her background is Vietnamese.

Granted, she is exceptionally good looking; and exceptionally personable. She has always been one of the most likeable people I've ever known. She gets along with everybody.

She had a great time in Australia, met some good people, and had nothing but good things to say about living there for 4 years. I hope your friend has a similarly good experience.

Half of my fathers family moved to Australia during the "£10 Pom's" Era, The rest of my family were supposed to follow and my father was set to start at The Broken Hill Proprietary Co. Ltd., Iron and Steel Works, I only have two relatives left in Victoria now.

Yes my childhood friend met an Aussie through a friend of mine and married him then moved there about 30 years ago. They come back to Scotland ever couple of years and have grown up kids now.

Why would anyone NOT move to Australia? Stable democracy, law and order, clear blue skies, wide sandy beaches...

Well, oh my. What is this question? Have I been to Australia or Austria? Or has she, or he or anyone been there, including my relatives? I should have to ask them, because I would not know or speak for all of them.

I do live in Australia, currently, and for the the future of my life. I have not been on this site in some time. I don’t wish any ill words to people that enjoy this but it is crap from what I can see. I am glad I had ‘left’.
