Wtf? should I be worried?

I have a one year old. My mom has been having her suck on her breast for I don't know reasons. Now my child can’t sleep without sucking on it. The only reason I’m aware of this is because when she gets fussy she starts touching my mom breast and every time my mom acts dumb as why my child is trying to have access to her breast. Is it something I should be worried about? I work night shift, I’m pretty sure she lets my child suck on her breast when I’m not there. The nights that I’m there she acts like she doesn’t know why my child wants to suck on her breast.

It is very hard to know how to react to this. My first inclination is to doubt whether this is indeed happening while you're at work. It's just such an odd thing for any grandmother to do. I think it depends a lot on what type of mom you have. Does she have a history of doing inapropriate/disturbing things, and then lying about it? If you have a more or less normal mother, then I would question whether this is actually happening. It sounds like you're drawing conclusions based on pretty flimsy evidence. Isn't it possible a baby just isn't differentiating between breasts when your child is hungry/fussy? Again, I know that I don't really know your situation. But this would be the actions of a woman who had some mental health issues.

My child was bottle fed. She doesn’t know breast so this behavior is weird

Hmm, now, to be honest, I don't know how much the association of a breast with food is instinctive vs learned. I really don't.

But still, unless you came back with "yea, my mother definitely does have mental health issues. She has a history of odd/inappropriate behavior and a history of lying"... I'm still going to say that you're jumping to conclusions without nearly enough evidence to warrant it.

No she told me once that she let her suck on her breast before I looked at her funny and thought she wouldn’t do it again but yesterday my child was fighting to get to her breast. That’s why I’m worried and she was laughing. I think she’s trying to create a stronger bond so my child thinks she’s her mom but I don't know it’s weird.

But that's a weird thing for you to think. It speaks more to a fear of yours than anything else. Again, unless your mom is of a certain, unstable mentally ill type... she's just not going to be trying to replace you as your child's mother. I also think that if she told you about this happening, then why would she deny it was happening now? (if it were happening).

It's hard to know what to tell you. The fact that she did it once is disturbing enough. But still, if you're right about her motivations... you and your mother would have to have a fairly messed up relationship. It's very unlikely that she raised you in a normal way (and I don't know that she did. I have no idea); only to turn around and try to replace you as mother in your child's mind.

I guess what I'm struggling with is: The woman who would do this (according to your suspicions) would have to have a history in-line with that kind of behavior. This is not something any normal grandmother would do.
