'Everyone wants to be trusted, no one wants to trust' agree or disagree?

This is something i heard someone say. basically so many people desire to be trusted but no one wants to trust anyone. so a bit of a catch 22 there. do you agree with it? or no?

This quote though, “You either have a friend or have a life lesson” is very misleading to me because I believe you can have a life lesson in a friend or good thing happening as you can a mistake , enemy , ex partner , etc. We learn from all experiences , though will admit bad ones tend to teach us a lot too.

Some folks have a trusting nature, however even we have our limits. If I notice something shady about someone I step away. My instincts are usually right on.

For instance I stopped connecting with someone the other day because I felt something was off... He seemed VERY SHOCKED and surprised -- he even wrote a paltry sort of apology with cliches about "being a busy guy" -- but apparently was on a date that same week. Busy indeed.

Why he thought it was ok to waste my time that way is a mystery. I didn't do a hard "block" but I unfollowed and stopped contacting. No need to offer trust where it's not deserved.

I'd say that's true. Maybe I'm just getting more cynical, but it seems like people used to be more trusting.
