Should I have told my brother I changed the lock on our mobile home?

My brother and I own a mobile home. Our aunt lives in it. My brother lives in another city. A couple of months ago my aunt texted me saying the lock to the front door was broken. She asked if it was okay if she had it replaced. I asked my mom if I should ask my brother first and she said no, and that it needs to be done regaurdless, so we got it done. My brothers coming to visit and he might find out. Should I have told him in the first place?

Tell him you got the lock changed, because it was broken. It shouldn't matter that you didn't tell him earlier.
