How did you become friends with your best friend? What is the story?

I have a few who might qualify, the one I call my best friend is my best friend from middle school, and we still maintain that relationship though if we were being honest about how much time people spend together, she might not be the name that would come up the most now. But we are still close and finish each others sentences and things like that. How I met her was in school plus we were in two of the same activities. She went to a diff college than me and since then we do still hang out but not like, every week.

My best friend from college, I know bc we were suitemates and roommates for two years.

And who I hang out with the most now is actually my fiance’s sister, I knew her from some high school activities though I was two years older than her, we were already kind of friends, but then I got her to help me with something (trying to secretly help my brother’s social life, he was in her same grade) and then later started dating her brother so we see each other all the time.

I met both of my best friends in college. The one forced her friendship on me. She has a tendency of targeting the quiet people lol. We had a painting class in common and anytime she saw me alone she would talk me into sitting with her and her other friends. She doesn’t consider herself outgoing but she is always surrounded by other people and is extremely talkative. The other friend is quieter than I am and I kind of forced my friendship on her. We had a computer class in common and we sat near each other. Outside of class if she was sitting playing a game on her laptop I would sit next to her and play on mine with minimal talking between each other until we grew more comfortable with each other. I introduced her to the other girl and the three of us have been friends for over 15yrs.

We were a group of teenagers coming from different neighborhoods, meeting downtown, in arcades or bars, on saturdays and sundays. Me and her shared similar interests, carrying existential questions, curiosity about philosophy, psychology etc, and then time did its thing, naturally

He was in the eighth grade and I was in the ninth grade. We met at the bus stop. I saw that he played football and said “so you play football huh?” He answered “yeahhhh” like no big deal. Have each others backs ever since. 50+years

We both like to say we annoyed the other into becoming friends. Basically, she thought I was super cool because I had blue hair when we met. In a group conversation with mutual friends she mentioned she had never seen my favorite cartoon, so I told her she was going to watch it with me and she wasn’t going to have a choice (kinda not really lol) and we watched the whole thing together, bonded over it, bonded over other similarities, found out we were in the same major so we took a lot of the same classes together and we just vibed.

I have about six best friends. One of my girl best friends, I met at a social group, for people with Autism. Another, I met through mutual friends, also at an Autism social group. Others I met on Autistic dating apps, or other social events or occasions.

We moved to the same country around the same time and used to help each other out. We only became close to each other three years later but now we're best friends for life.

I am just curious how people made the transition from stranger to friend. Make comment and they respond back with agreement? Then you find over time you have a lot in common and want to spend more time with each other?

She was in a group with our mutual friends . We were talking about where to eat for lunch. We still talk everyday

Yes. We introduced ourselves to each other. Found things in common. Sometimes being friends with someone is natural especially if you get along well
