Did you go to summer camp as a kid, and was it boring or a blast?

Was it boring or did you have a blast? Was it co-ed or same sex cabins? What did you find the most fun about the camp? Did you pull tricks on your counselor?

I went to a one week camp when I was about 9-10. I liked it. The boys and girls had separate tents. They were big tents on a wood frame, with wood frames for the cots The councilor's name was Jay and I had a crush on a girl named Tracy. I remember one guy got real bad poison ivy. Another guy got hurt pretty bad when he tried to stop a raccoon from stealing his candy. The raccoon won.

Did you do things to your counselor, like short sheeting their bed, putting pinecones in it, or putting it up in the rafters when he was out of the cabin?

No. I don't remember any pranks at all. If there were any pranks they were mild enough that I don't remember them.

Well, what fun is that? We put a snake in our counselor's bed. I heard she is still running.

I wasn't allowed to cross the street lol. My parents were very uptight and strict.

Oh way older than I'm willing to say. I was still a minor lol. I will say that. I had to talk to my Dad like an adult after he slapped me for crossing a dead street to get his shit together. Then I was allowed to if I promised to look both ways (which I wasn't an idiot and knew to).

No, I never went to Summer camp because I spent all my holidays with my family going places in the mountains.

I had a blast discovering new things and being away from school and other peers and simply being where I could do practically everything I wanted. We had a dog and I would take him to the lake and play with him pretending to be lost in the jungle, making a camp and "collecting food", whereas that food consisted of a few carrots and other veggies prepared by my mum to eat as a snack.

We (my dog and I) would leave after lunch and only come back before dinner. It was the greatest adventure and safe because my dog would probably maul anyone attempting to come too close to me. He was a big black Belgian shepherd dog.

And then when I was way older I put it antenna on top of a mountain for a guy and he asked me to come to his Camp he has Camp lots of fun it was challenged kids.

And his son was up helping us that day and I guess he asked his dad to ask me to be a camp counselor that too was a lot of fun is probably more of a challenge for me than it was the kids but it was well worth it

Yes the guy that I was doing the work for also was the head of a group Camp lots of fun and I told him I didn't know anything about being a counselor and he said just be who you are my son said that you were great so that's what I did I took the challenge and it made me look at a lot of things a lot different it was one of the best experiences

No, mt father would always threaten us with summer camp if we did not stop raising hell around the neighborhood. Looking back. I should have known he was bluffing. No way could we afford something like that

I went to a six week math camp and loved it. I would have hated most of the usual summer camps.

Math camp? Was that like going to band camp?

I suppose it was in a way. It was somewhat selective, so there were 60 talented high school students learning college math -- not calculus, but real math with theorems and proofs.

Even calculus was too much for my brain to handle. 😔

I find it easy. I went through my mother's calculus text when I was 12, solving the problems and checking the answers.
