I had no idea what the boogie man was when I was a child, but my father told us that there was a monster who lived in the attic who, in the middle of the night, would sneak out and eat us if we were bad. I was always a damned good little boy!
Thanks, Coach!
No. And why?

If we were playing up at night we'd be stuck in the garden for the boogeyman to collect. The story we were told was he was this homeless cripple who hobbled around and people felt sorry for him so they left naughty kids outside for him to eat.
One day out shopping i saw this weird looking crippled guy and nearly shat myself.
lol.
My great grandmother used to tell me about it... hooved feet, and so on... pretty crazy man.
Meanwhile I was more worried about my cat which had an obsession with rape. He would climb on your leg and massage it with it's paws... normal cat stuff so far. Then my cat would start fucking. My normal reaction was to kick him off... but rape cat doesn't take no for an answer. He's here to give you unwated cat fucks with no other fucks given.
Claws go in if you move at all... you soon realize you have to let your cat rape your leg or suffer severe consequinces. Rape cat just wants what rape cat wants... he doesn't care about the blankets or your feelings. He's going to rape you and expect you to pet him the next day.

Now, do you understand why I was not worried about the boogie man? The boogie man was not actively raping my leg at night.
I was afraid of a boogie bear for some reason not a man. I even had a dream of a bear putting me in a bag and throwing me away to the trash dumpster when I was 3.
My first nightmare.
Felt so good to wake up, crawl up and hug my parents in their bed.
Yep.
I was afraid of the boogeyman on occasion as a kid, not too often.
I gotta admit that I can still allow myself to get freaked out every once in a while.
Yep.
Lol.
Ever since my cardiac arrest events of two years ago, I sometimes sense and think I can see the Grim Reaper hovering around me.
Yep, to that, too.
Cheers to ya!
nope...
but... my grandma's porcelain doll collections, some of which were bigger than me... I never liked those at all, lol
I wasn't really afraid or scared of them but those eyes would drive me crazy with anxiety, and that was because my hyper-active-imagination would make them move in my mind... lmfao
so, if anything... I could have had a phobia with dolls... no boogie man or anything like that
My Mom made sure that I knew all about THE BOOGIE MAN!!
Before I would go to sleep she would say "Good night - sleep tight and don't let the Boogie Man get you"!!
I wanted to know what this Boogie Man looked like so I would know that it was him and that he was finally going to get me!! 😞
No bc when I learned English "Boogie" was a type of dance. So I thought it was a type of court jester character... a disco-dancing guy.
@DishLady Right. And after little kids went to bed, they would hear mysterious noises coming from the closet, and that was the Boogie Man shake-shake-shaking his bootay.
And the kids were all afraid that one night the closet door would open, and the Boogie Man would force them to dance too, and they would never he seen or heard from again.
@coachTanthony when I was a child, Coach, THE BOOGIE MAN checked under HIS bed for ME!!!
As for me I wasnโt afraid of the Boogie Man & I think I was more afraid of the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny & Santa Clause.
Only the one hiding under my bed in the dark night. 😐
I didn't believe in the Boogie Man when I was a child.
Nope. But I was afraid of snow plows till I was maybe 8.
Yes, but it was a Beedie eyed wolf my older cousin scared the crap out of me when I was a child about that
No but, for a good while, I was pretty scared of Paul McCartney.
I didn't even know whom that was and still don't so...
My mother decided to hit me instead, so I wasn't worried about no boogie man whatever that is.
No, I was afraid of the ceiling falling on me.
Nah... it was the cougar they spotted by the river.
He is not a legend here where I live.
I only remember being scared of witches
Not really, I was quite serious as a child.
You ever seen shadows move?
Don't think so
Don't remember , but Mike Tyson scared away Jesse "Boogie Man" Ferguson in a few rounds of their bout !!!
Nope. I had bigger issues than bullshit stories.
So real ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
I didn't know him back then
Never watched the movie.
No, no boogie man where I lived.
