Do most just get bigged up by parents, church, temple, family, etc. and it sticks psychologically over time? If a person is relgiously instructed for instance, does it last in their minds and form their schema? Or otherwise youth-inspired points?

A good chunk is part of upbringing but the other is based on subliminal instinct of what we choose as right/wrong. For example, some people are brought up STAUNCH __[pick a religion]__ and then soften down the road bc they see that what they were brought up with is not 100% true... they have to pick up on what's undeniably true and sort of "agree to disagree" with the rest.
For example, I'm way more "no nonsense" about certain things than other people in my family. And that has impacted the people I choose to have in my life... so I live a very different life than many of my other relatives. With other things I'm a bit more open or "laissez faire" and that also impacts the people I choose to have in my life. The combo has impacted how I tend to my family and carry on from day to day... and many times I look at my immediate relatives and wonder how we were possibly raised by the same people. It makes no sense.
seems spoilt due to your looks. go and beat me then for not valuing your looks. you wo't get far. oh yes, you cannot be judged. why? seems hollow. typical of Iranian values. lol.
