So I hardly spoke to my grandparents growing up. A couple years ago my grandpa called to see if I could help him build a shed. I did. It was nice, and we connected a lot. They are older and I know they won't be around much longer. he's 80, and grandma is 87. so I started going out of my way to just visit, and chat. We always had a pleasant time. So a couple of days ago I remember seeing a stihl weedeacker in my grandpa's garage that looked a lot like mine. I found out what model I had. We were sitting down in the living room. Just out of curiosity I tell him what kind I have and then I ask if he has the same one. He said he thinks its the same kind. Im just like "ah.." and nod my head. A few seconds later, he's like "so what's your point? You wanna use it, inherit it from me?" I was just like "no, just curious" then we dropped it. It kind of hurt my feelings that he got sort of frustrated, and im afraid im just getting closer to him because I want something.

Old people say some strange things , I would not be worried about , you connected , keep the connection going , we are all a long time dead.
Keep moving forward.
That wasn’t a good conversation. You gotta try to prove it to him that you love him for who he is not for how much money he’s gonna give you. Show him that you care. Don’t talk about the car anymore. Take him to McDonald’s for breakfast
sign them up a paper in which you give up on all of it...
Don't overthink it man
Older folks can just get a bit defensive about aging Keep visiting and your actions will prove you just want his company
