Were boys with freckles teased more than girls while growing up?

I was really freckly as a boy and got teased about it a lot. I was asked if I had measles, called freckle face all the time and had to deal with games of connect the dots. Curious if others with freckles had this experience too? Freckled girls seemed not to get as much teasing as boys with freckles.
