Does growing up with brothers make girls have thicker skin?

Most girls i know with really good senses of humor or who aren’t phased by hearing really dirty stuff most likely had funny brothers. Girls I've known with only sisters tended to be more easily offended/grossed out.

Yep, maybe.

I was raised with a brother 1 year younger than me, growing up I spent lots of time with him and his guy friends, it helped me see many things from a guy’s point of view.

Also, my brother is the most handsome guy in town and It also helped me with hot guys when I was younger, I never had a crush on them unlike other girls. That helped to attract them more lol, since I was the only one not interested.

So in my friends circle I was the only girl with that many handsome or popular guys after her.
That helped to build confidence haha

My brother was a big player in his late teens and he always gave me advice about men, that made me trust men less though, cause I was always thinking “What would my brother think of this guy?”, because at some point he believed all men want women for sex and the advice he gave me came from his own experiences as he broke hearts of many girls.

However this trust issue helped me to find a really great guy, who I’ve been with for over 3 years and having a brother helped me to be more supportive girlfriend as well, cause I know how it feels to live with a guy, how to be his partner in crime, how to cheer him up and blah blah.

All in all my brother taught me many things and still keeps teaching.

I have an older brother and agree to the thicker skin thing, I don’t get offended easily and am perfectly fine with most things. -ish though, I saw a comment saying it depends on other aspects which I also agree as my brother gave me horrendous self esteem with that thick skin lol

I think it has more to do with the parents. Most people I know who use dirty humor have a parent that used it too.

Yes, there were 5 of us kids. 4 boys and a girl, she was the youngest and she grew up very aggressive.

I think it depends on a few things (how many brothers there are, their age difference, how close they are, etc.)
One of my best friends in middle school was really close with her little brother (they were only a year or two apart) and she was really chill. Then I had another friend who also had a younger brother, but they were a little further apart in age and she wasn't so chill. So, it just depends. 😅

To give more insight: The first girl also had two older brothers (I never met them, I think they lived elsewhere) and the second girl just had the little brother. So again, depends. 🤷‍♀️😂
