Wrong to Strip and Humiliate Friend?

I'm a 19 year old girl and a few friends of mine from college (1 other girl and 2 guys all 19-20 years old) went to visit a friend that graduated all ready. Well she's kind of a neat freak about her apartment and I think she kind of embarrassed my friends.

When we got to her apartment it had been raining and of course the 2 boys being boys wrestled each other in muddy wet grass...Well my friend didn't want them in the apartment like that since she didn't want it getting filthy. We drove over an hour to get there so turning around and going back was out of the question.

So my friend (who has the apartment) said 'if you two are going to act like little boys then we'll just have to treat you like that' and she told them to give her their dirty clothes. At first they seemed kind of shocked, but she insisted. She made them strip to just their boxer-briefs and left their dirty clothes on the porch.

For the 4 hours we were there the poor boys wore nothing more then their very revealing form-fitting boxers. I think they were a bit embarrassed stripping to their briefs in front of 3 girls. On one hand I feel it wasn't right to have them strip, but on the other hand I can understand my friend not wanting to get her apartment filthy cause the boys were acting dumb and maybe a little embarrassment will teach them.

What do you think? Right? Wrong?

In a case like this I think it was right. I mean boys will be boys. If the situation was reversed and it was the girls getting muddy, then I would say it would be wrong to ask girls to strip down in front of male friends since girls need more privacy...but in this case asking a few guys to strip in front of girls is fine. Your friend took a quick and easy approach and simply made the guys strip down, nothing wrong with that. Most guys don't care about being in their boxers/briefs and even if they did, oh well!

They didn't have to give her their clothes. I think if they felt so strongly about it, they wouldn't have done that. If the genders were reversed, and it was a guy telling girls to strip down in front of other guys or she wouldn't be let in, I doubt she'd do it. They made their choice.

Well, these boys are grown. They had the ability to leave. But no, instead they CHOSE to comply with her wishes and take off their clothes. Did she hold a gun to their heads? Did she hold them down and strip them against their will? It doesn't seem that way from your story.

Well keep in mind we all went together in one car and since we drove over an hour, we (the girls) had no intention of leaving. So there only choices were either to strip or to stand outside in the pouring rain for 4 hours. So maybe they weren't totally forced, but they also didn't have a ton of a choice.

I don't know about right and wrong, but you girls these days are often winners in personal power struggles...and I'm not surprised these guys wound up strripped. I had a similar experience recently, and the girls found it totally acceptable and normal! THAT was what surprised me, that they didn't think it was anything shocking.

Thanks for replying. I wouldn't say it's a power struggle, although I would agree that having guys in their boxers isn't that major of a deal, unlike for a girl since we typically need more privacy. Do you mind sharing what happened to you recently?

Well, not just anyone, but as long as they weren't weirded out by it, I wouldn't be either. For example, a few summers ago me and a friend went to a lake for a swim. As it got dark, I asked if she cared if I skinny dipped, she said "go for it". So I did, then she got out before I did for a drink and a smoke, so I walked up to our stuff starkers, then stood there chatting while we finished our cigarettes. She was cool with, so I didn't care.

She says she didn't look, but that doesn't mean she didn't see. She was super cool about it, she knows how I am. She was blushing a bit, just because what else would you do? It was darkish, there was a light on a dock about 50 yards away, but still, we'd been out there so long our eyes had adjusted, like finding our stuff was no big deal. Plus we were sparking lighters too. We had a normal conversation like nothing was up though. It's only as big a deal as you make it.

I didn't like get off on it, I just didn't care. I enjoyed our entire night together. That just happened. That type of stuff just doesn't get to me. I went to a mineral water spa in Germany that was mixed gender and full nudity was mandatory. It is what it is. I'm aware that my opinion is that of the minority. I can't really explain it any better.

Reversed... Any guy that wasn't an a**hole would provide them with tshirts and shorts to wear in the meantime. I'd also offer to wash the clothes so they're dry for the trip home.

Pretty much, but not In those terms. I'd offer everyone something to wear, and just roll with their decision. If I was muddy, I'd say "Of course, no, I don't want to make a mess. Got anything that'll fit me, or is it cool if I just kick around in my shorts?" And go from there. I don't generalize about guys v girls. Your friend was wrong not to offer them something, but the fact they did it means they were OK with it. (I can understand a girl not having clothes to fit a guy, but a towel at least)

Alright. But when it comes down to it, the guys can be in front of the girls in just their boxers while they find towels, no real problem...but you would agree the girls should be given a change of clothes and given privacy to change so the guys can't see their underwear?

Girls don't need more privacy than guys. It's an individual's attitude about it. Everyone deserves to be treated the same. It's disrespectful to treat someone that way if they have a serious problem with it. Some guys would strip, others wouldn't. Same for girls. I'm just saying they had a choice, and they chose to do it. I'd never force anyone to do anything like that though.

I know a ton of girls that could care less about someone their underwear. The prevailing attitude is "a bikini is the same thing". Girls deserve respect from all guys, but that doesn't mean special treatment. Dignity is the same regardless of gender. If it's good for one, it's good for the other. Your agenda that you're pushing here is wrong. Everyone deserves the option of privacy. After that, it's on the individual.

I mean I'm sure they felt dumb after getting all muddy before going inside. They just seemed to act different I guess...I mean they were walking around and sitting down wearing only their tight fitting boxers while us girls were of course fully clothed. I would imagine they felt a bit weird being in just their boxers in front of clothed female friends? Or maybe not?

That's pretty weird. But if there are no blankets, towels, or other fair coverings honestly I'd probably have left and not stayed for hours on end. Or I would have washed my clothing and dried it at her house since ... you know that doesn't take 4 damn hours. No matter how it's spun something sounds off.

It's curious to me that no provisions were made as the host to possibly alleviate or prevent this awkwardness. Demanding they remove the garments is fine, fair, but to expect them over for an extended period of time without allowing them to be washed or giving them any options of any sort is just going above and beyond in my opinion in "proving the point". The way I see it if it were you were was muddy and she demanded you remove your garments and made no attempts to cover you ...

Well what difference would it make if it was already seen. Like if we saw what kind of boxers they had on, why waste time washing their clothes? They would be in boxers for like an hour or two anyway, what difference would an extra hour or two make? And personally do you feel it's that awkward?

It's not a matter of it being seen so much as it is a matter of actually alleviating the problem ( their clothing is dirty ). You seem pretty hung up on the whole "Clothed Female / Nude Male" bit. Did you personally like it? We're on totally different trains of thought.

I'm not going to lie, I thought it was kind of hot to see my male friends in just tight fitting boxers. :) I mean to see their entire body and the outline of their man package was pretty hot. lol But the main reason I asked the question was really to see how others felt, if it was handled appropriately or if she should have let them in muddy, etc.

Yeah, it's more that guys don't care so much about it, whereas being naked seems more of a big thing for women. Also, there are no consequences to a guy being semi-naked there. Whereas women could easily be raped, or called sluts for it.
