Hi, I am 18 years old I have a strong feeling that my mom is a toxic person. in 2021 my mom have been acting very toxic to me every since my sister went to collage, she keep telling me "I am here for my sister" every own and than.(no, she doesn't mean like a sibling) to me it sounds like am my sister slave or maid, and that's the only reason I am live. let me explain why I believe so
1.) she makes me do MOST of the choices
2.) call me MORE than my sister (, even though my sister is in the SAME room as her)
3.) every time my sister doesn't do her chores I have to do them or help her with them, but I don't get help.
4.) they both always team up against me in arguments. (Even went they are wrong)
5.) my mom would tell my sister to do something forget (because my sister will never respond to her) she calls me multiple times, or bang on my door to wake me up after she told my sister to do it. even to this day she have been doing this!!! Am trying to find a job to do online and make money so I can move out. this have destroying my mental health, and even made me have more anxiety.
I will be happier one day, just not in this house.

pretty much a few months after I turned 18, my dad started telling me that I needed to start buying more of my own food. I had a part-time job at the time and still do.
He said I would always get three free meals a day though, but I needed to start buying my own snacks. Fair enough.

But now he's telling me I need to start buying my own milk, basically the only thing we can eat for breakfast is cereal and oatmeal (unless I buy something else). I bought my own cereal, but how am I supposed to eat it without milk? Doesn't the milk kind of tie in with the three meals a day that I get for free, like my breakfast? Little by little he's starting to make me buy all of my food.
I'm trying to save up for a lot of things right now like a car and my insurance I'm going to have to start paying soon, I have very little money to buy my own groceries. If it was just the milk it would be okay, but he keeps adding on.
I am so hungry most days. I go to bed hungry because the ramen noodles I bought aren't that filling for dinner 🥺
It's not like I'm a 30-year-old still living at home. I'm literally 18.

This is my first poll so forgive me if I mess up. But I feel strongly about this topic AND I've seen lots of people talk about it on GAG so... what do GAG parents think?

My mother & I live together and right now im paying all the bills by myself. It’s been like this quite a lot these past 3 years but still manage to make it.
Our lease is up at the end of May but since im the only one working im saving to find a place for myself. It’s been so much back n forth about her and I moving separately along with her and I having drama from time to time. I just sucked it up and started to have money on the side to move.
Now my mom is considering wanting to move together again but I don’t want to because when things get heated she always want to be separated permanently. Which I’m just trying to cover my own ass by having my own place in case she changes her mind. Bills are piling up again and I have some money set aside for moving that could help pay the bills, I just don’t want to give up how much I saved to start from zero and regret sacrificing it when she wants to start drama again.

So Tom Hanks has a mostly normal family. Three of his children seem like regular people. But then there is good ol' Chester. There isn't a gun he won't hold or a drug he won't snort or a tattoo he won't get or a vaccine he won't be against. Do you act like a fool to get attention from the rest of your family? VOTE BELOW!

My supervisor has 3 children, an 8 year-old girl and two 11 year-old twin boys. The girl has been always kicking, passing and touching the ball from an early age. Unfortunately not many girls are into that so she plays with boys her age for the meantime; winning some.

The parents tried to get her brothers motivated into playing soccer but they have no interest and aren't great either. Only the girl seems natural at it and loves it. She wants to be a soccer player and participate in the Fifa women's world cup in the future.

Basically their daughter is doing what they would've wished their sons were great at. If your were the parent would you feel bad if only your girl was good with the ball but not your son (s)?

My father's only wishes were for me. They were to be accepted at Harvard University (the same one he studied) and be happily married. I'm single but his first wish came true. He died of cancer when I was 15 but before his death, he left a wrapped present. However his wording on it said not to open it till my wedding day.

I think it's sad because I can't share my acceptance letter with him. If one of your wishes came true after death, is this a happy or sad ending?

If they refuse to learn English (not even basic things or their own address), don't even try and use their children as translators for everything would you call that lazziness?

I was expected to even translate insurance policy forms at the age of 10. At that age, I didn't know what foreclosure meant nor how to explain harder terms. Even now as an adult, I still can't translate everything.

Do you feel the people you interact with have a profound affect on your future?

Do you hang around people who are doing things with their life or stagnant individuals?

Are their people you had to let go because they weren't progressing in life?

I had a best friend in my pre university.
I broke friendship with her because she backstabbed me and i trusted her a lot. (4yrs ago)
Recently her dad died because of cancer. I was kinda traumatized. I called her up and talked to her (for 1st time in 4-5 years) she said "we will meet soon-ish"
She still didn't accept my insta request
I want to talk to her but dunno if i should.

I would be distraught, familiarity is so very important.

They had their same personality and everything, they just looked like a completely different person.

My uncle got very drunk once and during and argument with my aunt in front of other relatives, said something along the lines:
''I fucking sacrificed my freedom for you, sacrificed it all. I did it all for you. You're not ok with my dislike in worthless travel trips but I had to accept settling down with you and form a family. You fucking won. I never wanted any of that.''
