Five generations of women on my mothers side have been sexually assaulted, going back to the mid 1800's, it may even go farther than that but records don't go past that. I am the most recent.

I am afraid that if I ever have a daughter, it will happen to her, that terrifies me.

My sister came to visit me for the holidays she forgot to flush and left a mess in the bathroom and the mgr said she was speeding so naturally I was pissed and screamed yelled in her face and slammed the door and said there has been like a hundred complaints against her the cops were coming and her car was being towed. She starts sobbing goes to talk to the mgr and the mgr said that she did not say that she just needs to slow down a little. Then I started screaming because I was running late for my hair appointment. They decided to leave and stay at his families for Thanksgiving can you believe that?

This person isn't a friend or anything, they're just kind of a familiar face.
Have you ever made this kind of assumption about someone? Or do you assume that people who do this are just friendly?

When my sis was a toddler, somethinf freaked out my fam and my little sis screamed. “Lets get the hell out of here!” No one in the fam cussed around her except for my grandma. So she definitely either got it from her or Spongebob. Lol. It was slick adorable but my mom immediately corrected her. I wasn't too surprised considering she only allowed me to say “wench/wrench.” She wasn't even cool with me saying hoe/piss/crap until more recently 🤣 And i dont even consider those to be cuss words. Now i have watched other kids with their families and the kid will call their mom a B word or tell their parents to fck off and the parents just laugh it off. Like what in the world 💀 #FeelFreeToList

Kids just want to do nothing but play video games. They don't want to pick up after themselves or do anything to help around the house. How about offering rewards to do certain chores, like 50 cents to pick up their rooms? Then they can use the money to buy themselves something when they save up some money. What do you do/ or did to get kids to be more responsible?

I actually have this happening in two different cases. My younger brother treats his daughter like a slave. She is expected to keep the house clean, watch her special needs sister, go to school (online classes) and she is also working nearly 30 hours a week. When I say slave I mean, he refuses to do the work at all including taking care of his own special needs daughter. He refused to let my niece (she is 17) come over to see our new puppy because he didn't want to watch his special needs daughter by himself. He also makes her do stuff like massage his feet, bring him dinner and give him money from her paycheck to buy him fast food. There is more than just that, but these are just examples.

When she is 18 she wants to move in with my wife and I so she can get away from it and focus on school and having a life.

My friend (21) also has a very similar situation where her father actually bugs her apartment (he sometimes stays there and pays rent since she is a full time student) to listen in on her conversations. He says he is only paying for her college so she becomes a doctor where he can then retire and have her support him financially for the rest of his life. She isn't even sure she even wants to be a doctor and has major medical issues that her parents ignored growing up that could have been fixed when she was younger. Her mom is not better honestly. I have sort of unofficially adopted her and she does things like movie nights with me and my family (our kids see her as an older sister), but mostly I just try to help her build confidence in standing up for herself.

Given the situations, would you help or stay out of it?

Last week my friend invited me to the club for her birthday to celebrate. She had planned this a couple of months in advance, I was supposed to meet her in front of the club with her friends at 11 o clock. The morning of her bday, she calls me and tells me how excited she is to hangout and how she can’t wait to see me cause it’s been a while. I went shopping for a dress and everything. I had my mom drop me off at the club so I wouldn’t have to park and I’m there at 11, I texted her and she said she’s on the way, 10 minutes later while I’m still waiting outside in the cold she tells me she’s not coming anymore. Turns out she never left in the first place. She was partying somewhere else.

Everyone at work is lazy but me. i fight all day with the dr. s at my practice. Same thing at home. They try to clean I have to redo it

Let's say you had a baby and after a few months or a few years, it became painfully obvious the child was growing up to be a total and complete doofus. Could you love your doofy child? VOTE!

I never knew this was a controversial subject. I grew up kissing my parents or family on the lips as a young girl. I kissed my son on the lips as a young child and same with my daughter.

What's disturbing to me is people who really think a peck on your child's lips from a parent is wrong because it's associated as an intimate act between 2 people. It also disturbs me when people turn something so beautiful and innocent into something dirty.

Why don't we just not hug our kids either since hugging can be associated as an intimate act between two people too?
