Why don't people like thin lips?

A lot of models have thin lips and they are considered very attractive but even time I've asked someone they always seems to hate thin lips. I personally have thin lips and it's been an insecurity of mine since my early teens, I'm not incredibly insecure but I do overline them with lipstick/lip liner a lot and make them look bigger using makeup which seems to work well. I'm just curious as to why. I can understand almost non existent lips because they tend to look unprofessional but I'm talking lips like Cara Delevingne or Emma Watson etc

Ok, most guys prefer thicker lips.
A) it just looks better, is more feminine, illuminates a more nurturing and soft look to a woman
B) It feels better when lips do stuff. kissing, etc.

BUT men don't really care. only the most horrible and shallow jerk would turn a girl down because of that. I'm talking one guy in 8 million.

There is a theory that says top lip should be slightly thinner than bottom lip. Should also have a nice "Cupids Bow" shape.

Emma Watson has lovely lips, very similar to the above description.

lol i have fuller lips and i think thin lips look fine and even good but when people try to put dark colors on really thin lips thats when i cringe

They don't look welcoming. Big lips are like soft little pillows. Thin lips make me think kisses will be hard

Plus thick ones 90% of the time make the eyes look small. And eyes > lips anyday

In my opinion most people who have big lips are default ugly. No man looks good with big lips, it just doesn't look right on men.

As for women I mostly find for a girl to be pretty she needs thin lips. Some girls can look sexy with big lips but I find most of them look ugly and gross with them (depends on their shape). When I was young if you didn't have thin lips you were considered ugly, it's only when I reached my teenage years I started to find some girls that happen to have big lips sexy (like Angelina Jolie), she has a sexy womanly look because of her plump pout. But even as an adult I still find thin lips more physically attractive on women even though I'm find myself more sexually attracted to women who have big lips (if they are well shaped on the right woman example prime Angelina Jolie). Thin lips on a girl give her a cute-pretty girl type of look while big lips giver her a sexy womanly type of look. So I would say personally thin lips on women are more physically attractive but not as sexy while the other is not as physically attractive but more sexually attractive (only if its looks good on the woman).

If Emma Watson and Kristen Dunst had big lips they wouldn't be considered attractive. They are attractive because of their thin lips.

Actually people in colder countries have to have thin lips to protect against cold. People in warmer countries actually have bigger lips. So nature has done what is good for us. People who don't understand this are fools. So everyone cannot have big lips even if they like them. I like both type of lips.

@Alexander101 Larger lips is also associated with a wider nose. Our bodies need to maintain temperature of 98.6 degrees F. People in colder countries have evolved thinner lips to avoid frost bite , where as people in hotter climes have fuller lips because they need to keep their body cold. If lips have larger area they disseminate more heat when it comes in contact with colder air. So larger the surface area more heat is disseminated. In colder climates people need to retain as much heat as possible , so they gradually evolved smaller lips thus limiting the amount of heat that can escape when cold air brushes past their lips while inhaling and exhaling. In the case of nose too the same reasons apply. As nose comes in contact with cold air , having a bigger surface area helps with cooling. Also for cooling purpose , energy is required to help the process run , so inhaling more oxygen helps this process. So bigger nose is required to inhale more oxygen.

thick lips are considered good while kidding. I don't know why. maybe because of flesh that comes in the kiss bite.
