She is quite pretty, but I meet girls on street which are ten times prettier than her without make up! I think it’s strange the way that peoples tend to calling her gorgeous and irresistible! Even in the vampire diaries show, i will never understand how the Salvatore brothers, can fight over Elena, while there are hot babes like Rebecca mickaelson, Caroline and others. She is not ugly, but she doesn’t deserve to be treated as a beauty queen! Can you explain why is she so popular? I’m not talking about talent or acting, but about look! Are the new media always show us girls like her to make the normal girls feel pretty? Even in violeta I don’t understand her popularity. I’m really curious, i mean... why some men find nina dobreve attractive while they can catch a prettier girl? I’m not questioning about her last relationship with Ian somerhalder, it‘s for the business and the media stuff, but I don’t get how the face of Nina dobreve is so loved? On the vampires diaries they show us Katherine pierce as being a player girl who can get any man she wants. I’m surprised to find men that are out of their league fighting for her and being used by her! Are the conceptions of this tv show making fun on us? The book is more realistic, since in the novel Elena is described as being blonde, with blue lapis-lazuli eyes, and a gorgeous face that can drive anyone crazy. Yes, I can see on the book why are boys so on her. But Nina dobreve has nothing to do with the real Elena Gilbert! Popularity like personality! I’m not bashing on brunettes since I’m a brunette my self. But Nina dobreve is not attractive anymore, maybe yes, but not at the point of getting two handsome brothers fighting for her! Am I the one who Is thinking like this?

You sound all jealous, and stupid really by indicating blonde wit blue eyes should be the only type of girls that make men or anyone crazy. That just sound straight out pathetic. While this girl looks like whatever, in the end, most people tend to appear more or less attractive based on personality, charisma and the way they express themselves... a good combination of all that mean make anyone fall in love without the typical blue eye blonde hair supremacy stereotype. Besides, what you are referring to is a tv made up character which is what she plays. You’re dumb lol
P. s. to make men crazy about you, you don’t need blue eyes or blonde hair... and hating on other women, even if they are ugly, will only make YOU less attractive to any man... they hate this type of women lol
I feel like she’s super pretty. But yes there’s prettier girls! I’m prettier than her 🤷🏾♀️ I just love her personality in the show, I feel like her spirit has shown us so much. Her acting skills are just super amazing and realistic. I love her acting, I appreciate that she could act Elena and Chatherine. I respect her because she can act. She will forever be the vampire diaries icon and so will the other actors. I just admire her talent. Stop hating! It’s a bad look on you. She is pretty one of my celebrity crushes! I don’t care about the movies, I just want to meet her in person. Oh and yes. All celebrities are overrated, this is why I don’t look up too or speak highly of any of them, besides my crushes... I focus on my own success

TL. DR. Virtually every "celebrity" is overrated. Majority of society is dimwitted so all they can digest is lame role models as her or any other well-known figure.
yeah I really do not find her attractive, way too skinny and she has this weird vein in her forehead. Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) and Claire Holt (Rebekah) are wayyy more beautiful. They should have chosen someone different to play Elena. I really despise her character anyway lol.
Really don't get why they chose her to play Elena tbh, Skinny as arake, no figure and no lips, also really awful hair at times

Just about every celebrity is overrated... that's part of the game. But to the merits of your question, I'd say it is because she has a sexy, but also sweet like you'd take home to tell the family that we're getting married kind of look... IMHO
